What the AI leaders learned · Moderna & Morgan Stanley
Internal AI tools gave experts their time back.
The numbers
What happened
Advisors get an AI assistant that answers questions from about 100,000 internal documents, and Debrief, which turns client meetings (with consent) into notes and draft follow-ups. Advisors review everything before it goes out. Follow-ups that took days now take hours.
After an internal chatbot reached more than 80% of staff, Moderna rolls out ChatGPT Enterprise. Employees build 750 custom assistants in two months, for contracts, policy questions and investor materials.
At Moderna, a tool called Dose ID helps analyze clinical data, but the clinical team makes the final dose decisions. At Morgan Stanley, every use was tested before launch and is checked daily.
The lesson for your business
Neither company pointed AI at its customers first. They pointed it at the searching, summarizing and drafting that eats skilled people’s days, and kept those people in charge of the decisions. The payoff was more time with clients and more time on the work that matters.
