A really simple but cool piece of software...
...that makes Lotus Notes Email work better
MBE is a great way to segregate your mail between the people you know and your important contacts from stranger, newsletters and spam, and lets you make adjustments by a simple drag and drop without any programming or rules.
MBE4 is a Domino server based product that does NOT require any Lotus Notes email template changes.

Manage By Example is a simple piece of software designed to unclutter your Inbox. MBE helps separate out e-mail based on your existing relationships, and your own personal preferences.
MBE uses your SENT FOLDER to determine your "important contacts" Messages from your “important contacts” will ALWAYS show up in your Inbox. In addition, all Lotus Notes users in your organization will also show up in your Inbox. These are People that I work with or People that I know.
The Other Inbox contains messages from People that I do NOT know. These are potential new relationships. The “OTHER” folder is new (and optional). If MBE does not recognize the sender, then they automatically show up in the "OTHER" Inbox.
The Newsletters folder contains messages that are determined to be Newsletters by MBE, along with any individual preferences that you make, using the drag/drop method. This separates Newsletters from your Inbox and allows you to review Newsletters all in one location
Junk Mail contains messages from the Spam filter, which may be dragged to your Inbox or Newsletter folder as your new preference for future delivery.
MBE overrides the Spam filter if you have a relationship with the sender, and puts these in your Inbox.
DEMONSTRATION
Below is a live Domino server. Let's watch MBE react when a user drags a message to a different folder.
Here is a newsletter that MBE has put in the Newsletter folder, from "Lotus Professionals", but I want to see in my Inbox. I can override this choice by simply dragging this message to my Inbox and watch the MBE server create a "preference document" without programming or creating any rules.
Here is another Lotus newsletter, and I will drag that, too, and see the MBE server automatically record that preference for future emails.
iNotes
What is really cool is that MBE also works with iNotes!
Here is iNotes. If I switch to my Newsletters folder, I see a newsletter from eWeek. I definitely want that to appear in my Inbox, so I drag it to my Inbox using iNotes. The MBE server records my preference for future use.
The great thing about MBE is that I can change my mind anytime that I want. I can grab this newsletter and drag it BACK to the newsletter folder, and my new preference is recorded,
What about the iPhone (or Android)?
Here is my email on the iPhone. In my Inbox is see the Lotus Professionals newsletter. If I no longer want to have that in my Inbox, I select "EDIT", then select the message, click MOVE, click the NEWSLETTERS folder, and the server immediately records my preference for future emails from that same sender.
